Description

"Chícharo" is the Portuguese name for a legume, Lathyrus sativus, similar to lupini beans, but with a taste and texture reminiscent of chickpeas. It is a nutritious food, rich in protein, fiber, B vitamins, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and folic acid. It can be cooked like chickpeas or dried beans.

Organically grown, right here close to us, in the heart of Alvaiázere. This is no ordinary chícharo. It is the result of ancient knowledge, harvested with respect for the land and the people who have cultivated it for generations, in an artisanal way.

Suggestion:

Soak for 12 to 24 hours and cook for 45 to 60 minutes in a regular pot or 15 to 20 minutes in a pressure cooker. You can add a strip of kombu seaweed during soaking and cooking to make the chícharo more tender, improve digestion, and reduce flatulence.

How we prepare your orders

For us, all orders are special. We prepare everything with a lot of love. But always in reused boxes/materials.

After receiving the order, we separate the items (and check if any are out of stock). If everything is okay, we proceed to packaging (all with materials left by our customers or from orders we receive from suppliers). If any item is out of stock, we will contact you with various options.

Shipments are made by CTT Express and you usually receive either a message or an email indicating the estimated delivery time. Then it's time to open your order, confirm that everything arrived well, and enjoy the items.
